MONIKA KREFT

I create because I love it, driven by an inner need to create. When a new thing is crafted by my hands, it brings me joy; it’s my way of keeping serotonin flowing.

MONIKAKREFT is a personal brand that allows me to follow my whims or imagination’s whispers, drawing upon my experiences in architecture, scenography, design, photography, and artistic education.

In my work, I am particularly drawn to the decorative aspect of objects. In the past, as an active architect, I felt ashamed of this term. Still, over time, I realized that decorating people is the ultimate expression of affection, tenderness, and exactly what I want to share.

Besides its decorative and visual qualities, the tactile experiences, the quality and authenticity of the materials used, and their finishing are important to me.

However, the message itself is most crucial. Each piece of jewelry has its own story, deeply connected to what moves, fascinates, or keeps me restless.
MONIKAKREFT is a conceptual jewelry brand. In my creations, I reference my region’s layered traditions and heritage associated with concrete production and the shipbuilding industry. I find inspiration in the human stories shared at a Szczecin café.

To quote a classic, my jewelry is “too Szczecin for Warsaw and too Warsaw for Szczecin”—at the intersection of art and engineering, blending both disciplines.
I hand-make each piece from scratch using traditional blacksmithing, jewelry-making, and sculpting methods in a countryside home workshop.
